2021 We Will Dress Up Again!
Here we are at the end of February 2021, and what a crazy ride this last year has been! I know one thing is for certain; getting dressed hasn’t been cancelled! Thankfully, it’s still been a mandatory and consistent part of our day, though it has been undoubtedly altered, modified, minimized, made casual, reinterpreted, and beyond.
Enter the sweatpants and all things comfy! The big question: Will we continue wearing them well into 2021? My bet is yes, just less. I am also hugely anticipating that we will dress up again!
It’s been most exciting seeing the fashion coming out of this creative quarantine time. The fashion world has been greatly challenged to reevaluate how they function, and as a buyer it’s been quite rewarding to feel the alignment in those changes. I look forward to buying in person in New York again.
Surely, I’m not alone in feeling like we’re so ready to have our social calendars peppered with fun outings and gatherings. These plans will entail throwing on a dress or something more elevated than sweatpants, major accessorizing, and more makeup than the minimal routine that has been so embraced and accepted this past year. Cue the many dresses that will be arriving on the wagon for Spring and Summer! I’ve had dreams of being dressed up in crowded restaurants, conversing with friends and strangers face to face, eight inches apart without a care in the world. Ahhh…the good ol’ days! We will get there again, feeling hopeful about it all.
